[267]

I've been slacking on my painting posts, but I have been painting! Had a little picnic outing with some painting friends from work at Heather Gardens.

Painting plums is so much fun! I was painting straight from the alizarin tube on these.

I painted this on a quadruple primed Raymar board. I thought it made a huge difference! The paint stuck so nicely to it even though it was smooth.

I signed up for Dice and Robert's Schoolism class and am trying to get through all the assignments! It is taking a while. Here are my overcast paintings so far...

[259]

I'm trying out Arches Oil Paper. It makes me feel like I'm painting gouache. For this painting I was trying to work on edge quality and values.

I didn't setout to have the highlight be in the dead center but it somehow turned out that way.

This is a crappy iphone photo. I like having a plan when I go into painting tiny gouaches. Like the plated eggs, I had a very specific idea of how I wanted to paint the vase. Background color first which would serve as my light areas, block in the shadows, add detail and highlights. BOOM. DONE. PAINTING SOLVED.

It's been a while since I've posted paintings, but it doesn't mean I haven't been painting! Here are some recents.
