A painting I did for The Mother Hen Project. It's an auction to raise money for Chicks in Crisis. I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. I had painted a version before this while doing practice strokes before committing and I ended up liking the practice strokes more than the actual painting so I scrapped the painting and without even drawing out the birdies, I just painted.

I'm on vacation in Taiwan this week so I've been doing some watercolor sketches. I saw this family across the tracks while waiting for a train to Yilan.

Zoo painting. This was my first time using gouache the way it actually should be used! Up until now I've been using it like watercolors.

It's been a long while (2+ years), but I'm finally getting back on the horse!  Thanks in big part to the friday paint group brought to my attention, works posted at ifyousquint and the inspiring works by Carol Marine (also check her out at her blog and her tutorials). I'm about to post a slew of paintings, hopefully ordered on the correct dates. I should really be starting over at 1, but I'll continue with 19 for continuity's sake.

Alright, so these "daily" paintings have turned into weekly paintings. Hopefully I can at least keep that up. I've been rather busy taking care of a baby duck.

Here's a lady from the long pose class. She kind of resembles our beloved Arnold Schwarzenegger.
