Tried to be a little more graphic with this.

Trying out another foil painting. I like how the brush strokes on the far grapefruit turned out simply and geometric.

Pears on foil. I'm trying out signing my name with a rubber tipped tool. It's certainly a lot easier to do than with a tiny brush.

Can you tell I really just wanted to paint taffys? I was trying to capture the hard glancing angle light highlight and the ambient light of my room, but ended up failing in that venture and having way more fun painting the taffy part.

Holy crap I am rusty after not painting for a few days. The surface was covered in a plastic film which made it reflective.  It did this cool thing where the shadow was super cookie cut out and the reflection of the toy was completely contained inside of it. I'll definitely be painting more on reflective surfaces. They are challenging and fun. Pochade box is almost done. I'll post pictures later.
