[188]

I want to create a better still life set up so I can paint at home. I got this LED light in the mail today so I wanted to try it out. I mounted it on my tripod and had to use my french easel (which I really hate, it is a horribly complicated and bulky design for an easel). I need to get new brushes. They've all gone hairy!

I tried to do something different with the composition this time.

I learned a couple things today.
1. I need at least 2 hours to paint.
2. I need to have an underpainting if I use the Ampersand Gessoboards. I paint too thin and it gets really smeary. I might try a different canvas. For this one, I painted for an hour and came back several hours later when it had dried up a bit. I pretty much repainted over everything. Maybe I need to use more paint/ less medium.

Eggs yolks are really fun to paint! The colors are so beautiful and there's always a lovely highlight to dab on.
